Introduction to Jingdong UAV

JD.com UAV is committed to building a trunk, branch and end-level UAV + navigable logistics system, aiming to cover the vast rural areas of the country and achieve village-to-village and county-to-county connectivity. The system will first be laid out from the end, then gradually establish trunk and branch logistics networks, and finally build a heaven-earth integrated intelligent logistics network to realize a two-hour logistics life circle and enhance the shopping experience of consumers.

In the first stage, the layout of logistics network in the vast rural areas was started, and the landing application of unmanned aerial vehicle logistics distribution was realized through the integration of existing distribution sites in Jingdong. The operation mode was that unmanned aerial vehicle took off from the distribution sites in Jingdong, flew on a fixed flight route, threw goods after arriving at the landing sites and returned home on its own, and then rural partners completed the distribution of goods at the villagers' end, effectively driving the development of e-commerce in the rural areas and the upgrading of consumer spending.

Jingdong UAV aims to solve the problem of last kilometer distribution in rural areas. JD.com officially launched the daily operation of unmanned aerial vehicles in Suqian and Xi 'an during 618 this year, enabling intelligent actions covering the entire distribution process, including unmanned aerial vehicle automatic loading, automatic takeoff, autonomous cruise, automatic landing, automatic unloading and automatic return. In February 2017, JD.com and Shaanxi provincial government signed a strategic cooperation on unmanned aerial vehicles, focusing on building a three-level logistics network including trunk lines, branch lines and terminal distribution. At present, JD.com has completed its trial operation in many places and has developed a variety of models including multi - rotor, VTOL and electric, hydro or hydro-electric hybrid. Jingdong UAV has completed more than tens of thousands of minutes of total flight time, tens of thousands of kilometers of flight mileage and thousands of flights since its flight test.

In 2017, JD.com began to build the world's first low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle navigation logistics network, becoming a three-level logistics system covering trunk lines, branch lines and terminal distribution.
