Yang Chuang, co-founder of Little Zebra Warehouse and deputy general manager of Beijing pelliot Outdoor Products Co., Ltd., said that due to the characteristics of e-commerce logistics center and its rapid development, in order to meet diversified customer needs, there are higher requirements in warehousing process, informatization, order production timeliness, zoning operation, etc. Therefore, apart from the continuous upgrading of information and automation, e-commerce logistics centers also have higher requirements for operation and management.

1.       There are many challenges in operation and management

According to Yang Chuang's analysis, the current operation and management of e-commerce logistics center mainly faces the following challenges.

( 1 ) flexible library planning

In - library planning needs to be adapted to the product structure update sold by the front end, so its flexibility is crucial.

( 2 ) Order Analysis

The wave processing after order analysis will merge many complicated orders into simple orders, and will also analyze the picking path and so on. Although all existing systems have this function, each has its own logic and no standardized intelligent analysis has been formed. Prior to this, the industry mostly conducted analysis in the form of " system + labor".

( 3 ) Staff performance appraisal

E - commerce logistics center needs a large number of operators. The complexity of orders is far greater than that of existing warehouses of commercial circulation enterprises, and there is no standard employee performance plan for each category and link. If the performance appraisal is complicated, it will certainly increase the appraisal cost. If the assessment is simple, it is difficult to arrange complicated orders.

( 4 ) The order fluctuates greatly

The greater volatility of e-commerce orders is a test for warehouse operation plans. Rational allocation of reserve production capacity is a great test for warehouse operators, and any carelessness will increase costs.

( 5 ) accurate inventory

The e-commerce logistics center has many factors that affect the accuracy of inventory, such as return operations, replenishment operations, review operations, and order interception, so it is difficult. At the same time, the e-commerce business still has some issues that are difficult to operate and need to be handled outside the system, further affecting the inventory accuracy.

( 6 ) management of temporary employment

At present, there are many temporary workers in the industry, and daily salary settlement is basically adopted. It is difficult for enterprises with a small amount of labor to assess their performance, relying only on on-site management and incentives, so the management of temporary labor is more difficult.

2.       Relevant recommendations

In view of the challenges in the operation and management of e-commerce logistics centers, Yang Chuang believes that the following aspects should be addressed:

( 1 ) to do a good job of preliminary evaluation and preparation

Through the collection and evaluation of commodity information, daily average quantity and other data, the type and scale of the e-commerce logistics center to be built can be judged. To do a good job in the preliminary investigation and preparation, you can visit and learn some similar warehouses that have already been built and understand and be familiar with all kinds of automation equipment. If the e-commerce warehouse is built to upgrade the original storage capacity, local innovation should be attempted first, and then full planning should be made according to the results.

( 2 ) Reasonable warehouse layout planning and process design

Reasonable planning of the functional zones required by the logistics center, as well as the area of the functional zones and the number of shelves, etc. Focus on the planning of moving lines, reserve main and auxiliary channels in each functional area and functional area, and reserve a safe distance according to the volume of automation equipment.

After completing the warehouse functional area planning, it is also necessary to carry out the logical planning of the business process. For example, the selection of storage and sorting mode, the planning of library location moving line, the selection of corresponding operating system, and so on.

( 3 ) Share the remaining area and give full play to the maximum value

When the warehouse is completed, the remaining area and capacity can be shared to maximize its value. Moreover, by renting out warehouses or outsourcing logistics, the cost of warehouses can be shared to increase revenue.

Yang Chuang believes that sharing idle storage resources will be the future development trend of e-commerce logistics and a new blue sea.
